The Fun Dome (#20): Un-Solo

Sam joined me today as Leo led us from the Magney parking lot to the East. The fog and rain cleared as we ran through the muddy leftovers. There was a spur, so we naturally took it. Leo sampled some streams. We encountered a leftover mill/building with a sluice structure of some kind of the North Branch of Stewart Creek. Cool bridge over the south branch of the Gogebic Street creek. We bailed out up to the Spirit Mountain Campground and back to the truck via Skyline.

While near some of the new Spirit Mountain mountain bike swoops, we ran into an angry woodpecker mama. She was protecting her babies that were peeping from that hole in the poplar up about 20 feet. Good day in the sun with the boy.

I did not give him permission to run away from me at the end. Not required, I guess. He went right past parity to kicking my ass. And today was only half of one percent of what I’m trying to do. Uff da.
